William Joseph Mannix was born on April 13, 1895, the final child born to John and Ellen Mannix. He was only six years old when his father died.
Will Mannix died at Wonthaggi, aged 78 years, in 1973.
I was very fortunate to be contacted, through this blog, by Tony Wason, the great grandson of Ellen Bourke and John Mannix, and he was able to fill in many gaps regarding the mannix family and their branches. He provided the following information about William Mannix:
"Will and Tess Mannix lived in Wonthaggi and had two children - Jack and Ailsa. Jack and Elga were both teachers and had two children that I know of, Chris and Brian - a well know Australian Rock musician and formerly lead of the band Uncanny X men."
I was absolutely thrilled to hear of the latter re. Brian Mannix as I have always been a huge fan of his, firstly through his music and latterly through his hilarious appearances on the wonderful 'Spics and Specs'.
